I started this last year but didn't finish it until now because I chose not to and other things had become more important.
But ~CherryVincent inspired me somehow and revived my long lost love of Crash Bandicoot as a mer-creature. You're looking at an old design but still very simular to a new design. I love those fins and the fact he doesn't look Litte-Mermaid-esque, it'd be too unoriginal and I'm tired of making my designs simular to another concept style.
Yes, those are gills on his jaw.
This has actually sparked a new little fandom I've come up with. I'll explain further in the next upload...

*falls* Dude, this is gorgeous. I love that the pic is a bit dark and not bright like much ocean-ish picture. It really gives off a more enigmatic depth. Even better are the glowing yellow specks on his fin and man, orange and blue are awesome color combo. PUR-DY.

So this is how it looks like. Aww, jenny, it's so beautiful! I'm so glad you finished it, really ^^
He looks so cute in this sea-creature mix. The lighting on his belly and from his ears really lights up the sea texture, as the hunting fishes (who lives at the dark bottom) uses to draw smaller fish to'em so they can suprise them with a huge ambush. Prehaps these markings are for showing out to "other mermaids" (not likly but) that here is he and he's lost or happy etc. You might just added them just for fun, but I love just to add stories to myself in drawings like these. I love the effects here, seriously. I remember you had another mermaid Crash drawing , if I'm not totally mistaking you with someone else, where he lay on a rock looked out ot the sea.
Again, nice work! You make your drawings always something special ^^ *even though it's old*

I TOTALLY WANT TO BE APART OF HIS WORLD!8D
No seriously, you have no idea how much I love this piece. Anything aquatic makes my heart beat with love and slapping it with Crash makes my pants happy.
The whole idea of Crash having more fish than a mammal made this piece extra awesome. The mer Crash i doodled has more of the dolphin theme slaped into it. But fish scales are more awesome than having rubbery skin!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
